Our Basic, Pro, and Platinum tenant screening reports are hand-compiled by a tenant screener within one (business) hour of you submitting your order.
If you order while the office is closed it will be worked on the next business morning.
Our current (Easter Standard Hours) hours are the following:
- Mon-Thu: 9:00AM - 7:00PM EST
- Fri: 9:00AM - 5:00PM EST
- Sat: 10:00AM - 2:00PM EST
SmartMove turnaround times are dependent on how quickly your applicant takes action on their end.
Things that can delay your order
If you ordered a platinum report it requires us to make phone calls to make verifications. We call employers and previous landlords. We ask for 24 hours to turn around these calls. We make three attempts for each. If you order Friday evening after hours we cannot contact the employer until Monday when they are open again so that can delay the order.
If this is your first time ordering from RentPrep we need to verify you as the landlord. This is a required security step and we need proof that you own the rental property. This prevents fraudulent credit checks and is a required step to protect renters.
All SmartMove orders include the tenant in the process. This means the order only begins once the tenant applicant does everything they need to do on their end. They will be emailed a link with steps on what to do next. Sometimes that email can get filtered into the spam inbox, so that's worth checking if they haven't received anything.
